I am new here and though I have been a member since June of this year, I have not posted much........I am 54 and have been disabled from a host of autoimmune diseases since 1992. I recently divorced my husband of 27 years and am finding it very difficult since he controlled everything in our marriage for all those years. I have NO credit except a piece of bad credit that is from an old joint account that I didn't even remember we had. Right now, I live with my daughter but I feel so useless and stripped of all dignity. I, as a 54 year old woman and parent should NOT be living with her daughter as a HAVE TO case....I need help, not a hand out, but help to get my credit straight and to BUILD it up. Since I am on disability, I don't have that great of an income so a lot of people are skeptical to give me a chance. I could not even get a secured credit card ! IS there anyone out there that can help me ? I desperately need to be self sufficient and live with my daughter only if I WANT to, not because I NEED to. I would appreciate any help to get me back on my feet. Thank you all for listening.
